Terms of Service
Last updated · May 18, 2026
By downloading, accessing, or using Stride you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Please read them carefully — they include important information about subscriptions, health and safety, and limitation of liability.
1. Acceptance of terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Stride ("Stride", "we", or "us") governing your access to and use of the Stride mobile application and any related websites or services (collectively, the "Service"). You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EEA) to use the Service.
2. Your account
To access most features, you must create an account using Apple Sign In or another supported provider. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at info@jhobbie.com if you suspect unauthorized use.
3. Subscriptions, billing & refunds
- Stride is a paid service offered through subscriptions ("Stride Premium"). Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play.
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Renewal is charged to your store account within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
- You can cancel anytime in your Apple ID or Google Play account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds are handled by the platform store (Apple or Google) under their respective refund policies; Stride cannot directly process refunds for store-billed transactions.
- Prices may change. If we change pricing, we will give you advance notice and an opportunity to cancel before the change takes effect.
4. Health & safety disclaimer
Stride is a fitness and coaching tool — not a medical service. We are not your doctor, physical therapist, or licensed medical professional. You should consult a qualified health professional before beginning any new exercise program, especially if you are pregnant, recovering from injury, or have any cardiac, respiratory, or musculoskeletal condition.
You assume all risks associated with physical activity. Stop immediately if you experience pain, dizziness, shortness of breath, or any other warning sign. Stride and its contributors are not liable for injuries or health outcomes related to your training. Use common sense and listen to your body.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, or interfere with the Service.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our written consent.
- Upload malicious code, attempt to gain unauthorized access, or interfere with other users.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
6. Your content
You retain ownership of any content you submit (such as run notes, manual logs, or feedback). By submitting content, you grant Stride a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, host, store, reproduce, and display that content solely for the purpose of operating, providing, and improving the Service.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, including all text, graphics, logos, training plans, coaching algorithms, and software, is owned by Stride or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes.
8. Third-party services
The Service may integrate with third-party services (such as Apple Health, Google Health Connect, App Store, or Google Play). Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, create risk or legal exposure for us, or for prolonged inactivity. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive — including Sections 7 (IP), 10 (Disclaimer), 11 (Limitation), and 13 (Disputes).
10. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE OPERATION.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL STRIDE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) $50 USD.
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Stride and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
13. Governing law & dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflicts-of-law principles. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be resolved through binding individual arbitration administered under the rules of the American Arbitration Association in Wilmington, Delaware, unless prohibited by local law. You waive any right to participate in a class action or class-wide arbitration.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in-app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
